Invitations:
Commencement invitations and information will be sent out to graduating students in May.
Tickets:
Tickets are required for the HSSEAS Commencement
- details will be posted at a later date. Participating in the Ceremony obligates you and your guests to arrive to the Ceremony on time and to stay to the conclusion of the Ceremony out of respect for all participants.
Parking (Subject to Change):
Parking for the HSSEAS Commencement will be available in parking structures 4, 6, 8 and 9. Valid ( not expired) student, faculty and staff permits will be valid on Commencement Day. There is no limit on the number of guests HSSEAS degree candidates invite to Commencement; however, those who do not have a student, faculty or staff parking permit will be charged $10.00 per vehicle for parking. Pre-paid Commencement Parking Permits will be available for purchase ($10 per permit) beginning in May in the Parking & Commuter Services Lobby and at the UCLA Central Ticket Office from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
Photographs:
Guests are free to take pictures of the Commencement activities. However, to ensure the best seating for your family, and to avoid delaying the line up of graduates, please urge your family not to spend too much time taking pictures before the ceremony. There will be time for photographs during the reception following the ceremony. Inside Pauley Pavilion, a portion of the guest seating section near the stage will be roped off for guests to photograph their candidates as the degrees are presented - no seating is allowed in this section.
Prompted by student requests, a professional photographer has been hired to take photographs, which will be available for student purchase, of the degree candidates on graduation day. Two pictures of the individual degree candidates will be taken during the ceremony; the first picture will be taken as the student walks across the stage and the second picture will be taken as the student exits the stage.
Student Marshals and photography staff will be present during the ceremony to direct the degree candidates. Proofs will be sent to students within 7 days, and there is no obligation to purchase the final prints. For logistical reasons, pictures will be taken of ALL students regardless as to whether the student wishes to place an order. ALL STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO COMPLETE THE ADDRESS PHOTO CARD, WHICH WILL BE SENT OUT WITH THE STUDENT INVITATIONS, AND TO BRING THE CARD TO THE CEREMONY. THE ADDRESS PHOTO CARDS WILL BE COLLECTED DURING THE CEREMONY BY THE PHOTOGRAPHY STAFF. COMPLETING THE ADDRESS PHOTO CARD DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE STUDENT TO PURCHASE PHOTOS.
If you have questions regarding the photography procedures, feel free to contact the professional photographer directly (Bob Knight Photo, 1-800-628-4509) or view their web page at Bob Knight Photo
